Thank you for checking out Mondo Burrito! My name is Steve, and my brother Mark and I opened this restaurant in January 1997. After many years moving around the country with corporate restaurant management jobs (mostly Mexican restaurants), I wanted to return home to the South Bay to settle down and work for myself.
When growing up in Mountain View, my family and friends enjoyed a burrito bar tucked into a cramped corner of a Mexican grocery store. I always liked the food, but felt the rest of the experience was lacking. The place was hot, cramped, with no seating. To-go was the only option. For years, it had always been in the back of my mind to do a burrito bar restaurant with lots of great, quality choices, PLUS a large comfortable dining room. When I came across this location for rent in November 1997, it seemed the perfect time and place and thus Mondo was born!
Now, for almost 15 years, we have been doing our best to bring the highest quality Mexican food with plentiful choices of ingredients to the Santa Clara community.
